9 Must-Read Articles When Your Passion on Blogging Down

I was a young man who learned blogging autodidact. When teenagers at my age playing games and having fun, I learned about blogging from the internet.

Since my country has not yet recognized blogger as a legitimate profession, I have trouble finding the right mentor to hone my knowledge about blogging.

I started blogging with the conviction that blogging will provide something different in my life. I feel many benefits of blogging though, like getting a lot of friends and earn some money from blogs.

However, there are times when I lost my passion on blogging. It’s difficult time indeed. I must struggle alone to overcome it. I can even vacuum blogging for months when it happened to me. It’s crazy, right? πŸ˜†

I know that was wrong, but that’s what will happen if you are in a country that still has the conventional thinking. People are hard to accept something new and even sometimes tend to mock the things they do not know.

I’m the person who tried to explain everything to them. That’s why I felt alone in my own country. It was strange, even depressing.

Because of it someday, I’ll make my own workshop and reveal all the knowledge I have gained about blogging and internet marketing. I will be a pioneer in the make money blogging in my country.

So, what do I do if my passion on blogging down?

Normally I would let go of everything. I would stay away from my laptop and go somewhere, sometimes go for a walk, sometimes do silly things with my friends to forget everything or looking for something that could make my passion back.

You know, when I started blogging seriously, I found myself having a lot of friends on social media that even I had never met them in person. I also received an award as one of Top 20 Inspiring Men Bloggers of Aha! NOW. I’m grateful for that! πŸ˜‰

In the meantime, I also get a lot of notifications from social media sites, more and more people who comments on my blog, and that means, I have to do more work to reply all of them. It was something I had never experienced before. It makes me overwhelmed, honestly.

I began to think that blogging is a job that never ends. In my heart I asked “Is this what it means to be a blogger?”

I felt that I was the only one who experienced it, since I don’t know the story behind the scenes of other bloggers and what they experience when they started blogging.

These articles open my eyes!

I collect 8 must-read articles, especially when your passion on blogging down. Here they are:

1. An Open Letter To Bloggers Who Have Lost Their Way

Adrienne Smith Screenshot

Adrienne Smith Screenshot

It’s an article published by one of the bloggers, my friend and my mentor, Adrienne Smith. I learned a lot from her and some other bloggers.

And in fact this is an open letter to bloggers who have lost their way, written by Kevin Duncan, owner of Be A Better Blogger.

What makes this article special?

When I read this open letter, I felt that Kevin had read my life’s journey. I realized that what he mentions in this article are the things that I experienced at that time.

And I believe that the only people who have gone through the same life journey that is able to write an article like this. That means, Kevin also experience what I experienced.

It makes me a little relieved because I felt that I was not alone. There are many other bloggers who experienced the same thing.

When you feel down in blogging, it would be better if you read this article for a moment to fix your passion. It worked for me though.

Passion will move men beyond themselves, beyond their shortcomings, beyond their failures. [Click To Tweet This!]

~ Joseph Campbell

Indeed, the most frightening thing is to feel alone. It will make you feel that whatever you do, it doesn’t mean anything.

Knowing there are people who are experiencing the same thing with us will give us a special motivation. That’s why I liked the article in the form of biography.

2. Consistent Blogging: How to Blog Regularly?

Pro Blogging Success Screenshot

This is an article written by Nirmala Santhakumar, the owner of My Magic Fundas, and published by Jane Sheeba, a professional blogger.

Some time ago I stopped at Jane’s blog and find many useful articles in it. And certainly, I’m very happy to have known her and be friends with her.

What makes this article special?

There is a saying that:

You will become an expert in a specific field if you have to spend 10,000 hours doing it.

In other words, it’s CONSISTENT!

I think you have to realize that consistent is a difficult thing to do. Since our passion will always fluctuate, right?

People who can maintain their passion stays high until the end are the ones who will get the success in the end.

In that article, Nirmala told us all about how blogging consistently. And indeed, consistency is always bringing something great.

There is no hard work in vain. It is always a reward for any hard work. Work hard consistently will bring more great results.

It’s not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives. It’s what we do consistently. [Click To Tweet This!]

This is an article written by Rohan Chaubey, an enthusiastic blogger. I found this article to coincide when I feel down in blogging. So, it helps me in some ways.

What makes this article special?

You know, when I tried seriously to become a professional blogger, I get a significant difference in my digital life.

I get a lot of followers each month, either from Twitter, Google+ and other social media sites. I also get dozens of notifications from Twitter every day, not to mention from other social media sites.

I also have to check and reply to any incoming comments on my blog and also commented on several other blogs every day as well. It was like a never-ending activity. It makes me overwhelmed, seriously.

Blogging Your Passion Screenshot

This is a great article written by Jonathan Milligan. I feel that this article is suitable to improve your passion and remind you that you must be consistent in producing art for your blog.

What makes this article special?

When I read this article, for some reason, I feel that this is a good meal for my passion. Jonathan said that there is a difference between successful bloggers and which are not.

You know, there are many bloggers who are expecting something when publishing their articles, including me. Bloggers usually expect some things, like great number of readers, great number of shares and many other expectations.

And sometimes it makes bloggers desperate when reality doesn’t match their expectations.

However, successful bloggers will still create quality articles although it does not get a lot of feedback (at this time).

They keep creating it and they realize that all of these will pay off when the time comes. Even in blogging, we must do it willingly and sincerely.

To practice any art, no matter how well or badly, is a way to make your soul grow.

What makes this article special?

Blogging is a process for success and Adrienne remind you if you in or out. If you go out, then all ends here, but if you follow the process, then something great will happen to you for sure.

Blogging is not an overnight success. It takes the process, commitment and consistent. We must be aware of it.

This is a great article from Adeel Sami, a passionate blogger who lives as a blogger and die as a blogger. I think this is an insightful article that opened my mind about how blogging in the true sense.

What makes this article special?

Adeel told us that we should not be blogging just because of numbers. I believe that there are many bloggers who concerned about numbers in their blogging journey.

Every day and every time they kept an eye on their Alexa rank. And when they realized that their Alexa down, they are in agony.

If you are blogging for numbers, it would be better if you stop blogging right now.

I just found an article some time ago. I really enjoyed reading it.

I believe that you must have heard about Jon Morrow, right?

If you are a blogger, then I’m sure you know him (although I also know him a little late).

What makes this article special?

It’s an insightful article written by Jon Morrow. He wrote this lengthy article (it’s closing in on 4,000 words) simply to share their secrets to us.

Honestly, when I read the introduction, I was moved to read this entire article. He was like talking to me directly because I also experienced the same problem.

In this article, Jon Morrow gave some lessons to us, the bloggers, gradually in order to achieve success.

It seems I don’t need to introduce who the author of this article. I believe everyone would know about him.

As shown in the title, this article is about Enstine Muki’s blog income report in the month of May 2015.

So, what makes this article special?

Well, you know, I also want to be a making money blogger like Enstine Muki. Every time I read this report which is published every month, I feel motivated at the same time inspired.

When my passion on blogging down, I remember this article and more or less, it helped me excited again.

I dream to be in the same position with Enstine Muki (or even more) one day. πŸ˜‰

9. 7 Harsh Realities Of Blogging That Bloggers Should Know

Aha! NOW Screenshot

Aha! NOW Screenshot

After learning some of the articles that arouse your passion on blogging, you also need to know some of the harsh realities of blogging.

Harleena Singh, my mentor and one of the bloggers I respect, wrote a great and “a little scary” article in her blog.

I know that you definitely don’t want to know these realities. It might make your passion become shriveled after what you’ve learned from the previous articles.

However, if you are indeed a blogger who wants to succeed, it is mandatory to know these harsh realities.

Why do I say that?

The first fact you should know is that blogging is not a get rich quick scheme. It takes a lot of your time, patience, consistent and hard work.

If you start blogging with the initial thought would get a lot of money in a short time, maybe you will tremble when reading it.

Just like entrepreneurs, bloggers should have a strong and resilient mental. There are many trials and challenges along the way. Only for those who can get through all of these are those who will be successful later on.

By knowing the harsh realities of blogging, you can prepare yourself mentally and do your best to achieve the success you desire.

We are in the same boat, so let us fight together! πŸ˜‰

One person with passion is better than forty people merely interested.

~ E. M. Forster

This is my first round up posts and finally, I could publish it on my blog.

It’s the longest article I’ve ever written (more than 2000 words). I took 3 weeks to complete this article before publishing it, seriously.

So, I sincerely hope that your passion on blogging is never goes out. If it happens to you, there are several articles that will ignite your passion with their great words and inspire you.

In the meantime, could you do me a favor?

Please share this article. It was not because I simply want more traffic to my blog, but my main purpose is that I want other bloggers can be motivated because of this.

I’m sure there are many other bloggers who have the same problem with me. Unfortunately, I can’t reach all of them alone. But with your help, we can do it! πŸ˜‰

I wish I could help them with this article.

Now, it’s your turn..

What do you think about those articles above?
Also, please tell us what you did if your passion on blogging down?

  • Hi, Nanda, that’s a really honest post.

I’ve definitely had my moments of asking is this amount of work worth it. You’re in a really good position being so far ahead of most people in your country – learn as much as you can ready for when you become the expert they turn to πŸ™‚

With most things in life you know straightaway if it’s working – I think the problem with blogging is that you don’t get instant rewards. So it all seems a bit of a waste for a long tme till suddently everything works out. The more effort you put in the quicker you’ll get there πŸ™‚

    Hi Nanda

That’s a great round-up post and I enjoyed reading the articles. It’s very relevant to me at the moment because I’m feeling very “low” about blogging.

NOT because of the writing and commenting; even though that is time-consuming, I enjoy that part.

What is getting me down is the constant battle with technical problems. I just seem to go from one problem to another. I know some people enjoy learning about CSS and stuff like that, but I don’t. I just want to write. I’ve been fighting the latest problem on my blog for over a week now, and as blogging is a part-time venture for me, there’s not been any time left to write or promote.

Ah well, better look for some more technical support πŸ™

What made them feel relieved and alive again is by reading motivational and inspiring stories/blog posts based on real experiences. Experts are also great when it comes to inspiring fellow bloggers.

We all have shortcomings and we can get through it in so many ways. I also agree with that you that it would totally help if you will leave everything behind for a moment to regain your passion. Go out, create quality time with family and friends and enjoy different activities outside your internet world or blogging world.

I hope this article is useful to help some other bloggers are experiencing the same problem with me. And I also recommend you to read other articles. All these articles are good readings. πŸ˜‰

Thanks for stopping by and share your view with us, Sunday.
      Have a great weekend!

  • Hi Nanda!

What an inspirational journey you have my friend!

Congratulations on sticking with blogging even with how it is in your country. It is tough, but it is very well worth it.

Blogging is an art and it is something that will change your entire life!

I loved the blog post by Nirmala. She really shared great tips to become a great blogger online!

I also enjoyed the other posts you shared here. There is definitely a lot to learn in each one of them!

Whenever I lose some passion for blogging – I take a break, and go for a walk or entertain my mind with other non-related activities. Sometimes we do need a break and we do need to get our minds away from the computer and the cyberspace!

I would take an entire day or two completely off from blogging and doing any work online. It helps me recharge and get back in the game with more passion!

I love taking walks to clear my mind.

    It really helps! πŸ™‚

Thank you for sharing these articles! .. they are very valuable and very helpful to bloggers!

    Have a great week!! πŸ˜€

Oh, I like what you do to get your passion back. You really similar to me. I also do that, more or less. I also like to walk to refresh my eye after looking at the screen laptop for a few hours. πŸ˜€

      You are most welcome, Freddy.
It’s an honor for me if you liked this post. I wish for your success! πŸ˜‰
